3 Way Finishes
  • Parts that are not designed to be produced flash-free are finished in one of three ways:
  • FIRST and most common is deflashing via tumbling with nitrogen. Parts are frozen, allowing embrittled flash to be broken off cleanly.
  • SECOND is the tear trim method, which is most common in compression molded items. The mold is designed so overflow rubber can be easily peeled off the piece.
  • THIRD is the die trim method used for high volume production and for parts that must be unloaded from the mold in a sheet to overcome severe undercuts or lengthy cycles.
